ABU Vice-Chancellor Inspects Ongoing Renovation of Student Hostels Ahead of New Academic Session

The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has inspected ongoing renovation works at Ramat/Bakassi hall of residence at the Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria. 

Prof Ahmed went round the project site along with the Director, Physical Planning and Municipal Services, Arc. Mukhtar H Mohammed; and Provost, Postgraduate College, Prof Olayinka Okubanjo.

The scope of the emergency repairs of the student hostel include

ceiling, painting, mechanical fittings, netting, and roofing. 

The project also entails drainages, extension of fence, upgrading of existing wall fence, and construction of new fence.

The Vice-Chancellor, who was received at the project site by the contractors handling the works, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the job. 

It is expected that the repair works will be concluded before the return of students to the university for the 2025/2026 academic session in January, 2026.
