Abubakar Halimat Ohunene, a remarkable student from the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has earned a First Class Degree with a CGPA of 4.51, showcasing her dedication and exceptional academic performance in a field traditionally dominated by men.
Hailing from Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Ohunene's academic journey has been one of hard work, commitment, and resilience. Her outstanding achievement not only reflects her personal dedication but also highlights her consistency in striving for excellence.
Throughout her years at ABU Zaria, Ohunene stood out as a mentor and tutor to her course mates, beginning from her 200 level up to her final year. Her passion for teaching extended beyond her peers, as she has also guided students in lower levels of study, imparting valuable knowledge and support.
In addition to her academic prowess, Ohunene served as the Welfare Director of the National Association of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Students (NAWREES) ABU Zaria Chapter during the 2019/2020 academic session. She also held the position of Financial Secretary of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) ABU Zaria Chapter for the 2022/2023 session, further demonstrating her leadership skills and dedication to serving her fellow students.
