AE-FUNAI Signs MoUs with Four Institutions to Expand Access to Quality University Education

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, EBONYI STATE has signed Memoranda of Understanding on affiliation with four institutions, marking a landmark step toward broadening access to degree programmes across the Southeast.

The new affiliates are Marist Polytechnic, Enugu; Mater Misericordia College of Nursing Science, Afikpo; Royal College of Nursing Science, Ezzangbo; and Comprehensive School of Management and Technology (CSMT) School of Biblical Studies, Abakaliki. Under the agreements, the four institutions will run degree programmes to be awarded by AE-FUNAI.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Nwachukwu, said the affiliations align with his administration’s vision of expanding access to university education to students outside the main university campus.

He assured that the University will work closely with the management of the affiliate institutions to ensure that quality education is delivered through proper supervision and monitoring of their academic activities.

Prof. Nwachukwu further stated that the University will collaborate with the institutions to secure accreditation for all the programmes covered in the affiliation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), and relevant professional regulatory bodies.

“Our reputation for academic excellence and integrity is non-negotiable. We will maintain rigorous oversight to ensure standards are upheld,” he said.

In their remarks, the heads of the four institutions described the affiliation as a lifetime opportunity that will expand their reach, resources, and visibility, and avail their students the opportunity to acquire quality university education and degree certificates from a reputable university.

They pledged to maintain the academic standards for which AE-FUNAI is reputed for in the country in the running of the programmes.

The partnerships will expand access to university education for students by enabling them to earn AE-FUNAI degrees in their localities, while ensuring quality through the University’s curriculum, supervision, and commitment to securing NUC and professional accreditation.

The affiliations will also strengthen resource sharing and institutional visibility, allowing both AE-FUNAI and the affiliate institutions to enhance academic standards, improve graduate employability, and advance their shared mandate of producing globally competitive manpower for national development.
