KWASU Senior Citizens Centre Graduates 37 Professional Caregivers

37 professional caregivers and healthcare assistants were on Thursday, July 2, 2026, certificated by Kwara State University's Senior Citizens Centre (KSCC) during the 2nd graduation and induction ceremony.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Moshood Mahmud Jimba, described caregiving as a noble and indispensable profession. He urged the graduates to uphold the ethics of the profession and serve as worthy ambassadors of Kwara State University, Malete, wherever they find themselves.

Professor Jimba noted that KWASU remains committed to excellence in healthcare education and encouraged the newly inducted professionals to sustain the university's reputation through competence, integrity, and dedicated service.

The Chairman of the KSCC Board, Professor Emmanuel Ajani, commended the graduates for successfully completing the rigorous training programme and charged them to demonstrate diligence, professionalism, and compassion in the discharge of their duties.

The Director of the Centre, Dr. Nimat Bola Idris highlighted the impact of the KSCC since its establishment in 2025, stating that its graduates are making meaningful contributions to Nigeria's healthcare sector and the economy.

According to her, many alumni of the programme are already gainfully employed in healthcare facilities, while others have established successful home-based caregiving services, creating sustainable livelihoods through their acquired skills.

The ceremony, held at the auditorium of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), concluded with the presentation of professional diploma certificates and the formal induction of the 37 graduates into the Community of Caregivers.
