The Preventive and Sanitation Unit of University Health Services at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, conducted an exercise on October 10, 2024, aimed at eliminating expired products from the campus. This initiative is part of the Unit's ongoing efforts to curb the sale of expired items within the university community.
The Preventive and Sanitation Unit is responsible for a variety of services, including maintaining food safety and hygiene standards across the campus. As part of their mandate, officers conduct routine inspections of cafeterias, restaurants, and eateries to enhance food quality and ensure compliance with operational standards.
