Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the payment of the 2023 scholarship to children of deceased civil servants and students living with disabilities in the state. The scholarship program for children of deceased civil servants is aimed at supporting bereaved families of Delta State civil servants who passed away while in active service.

Additionally, the scholarship scheme for physically challenged students is part of the Delta State Government’s initiative to assist individuals who, despite their disabilities, strive to obtain an education that empowers them and reduces their vulnerability in society. These scholarship programs are available at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

In a statement signed by Dr. Godfrey Enita, Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, a total of 628 children of deceased civil servants are set to benefit from this initiative, which underscores the government's commitment to educational support for the most vulnerable members of the community. The scholarships aim to provide financial relief and encourage educational pursuits among these groups, fostering inclusivity and development within the state.
