Ahmadu Bello University VC Commends Student Affairs Division for Successful SRC Election

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, has praised the Student Affairs Division for organizing a successful and transparent election for the 2024/2025 Students Representative Council (SRC). The commendation was made during the inauguration of the newly elected SRC executives, held at the Assembly Hall, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Prof. Raymond Bako, Prof. Bala highlighted that the university is dedicated not only to skill development but also to nurturing future leaders. He affirmed the university's ongoing support for the SRC while emphasizing the importance of adhering to the institution's rules and regulations.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Sahalu Junaidu, shared his initial underestimation of the complexity of conducting the SRC election but expressed satisfaction with its success. He acknowledged the petitions raised post-election, which were resolved within the division.

The new SRC President, Comrade Ibrahim Nazeer Kallah, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support and pledged to lead with dedication. As the first president from the College of Medical Sciences, he vowed to work collaboratively with his team to ensure effective governance.

The event concluded with the administration of the oath of office to the new executives, followed by a group photograph. Several university dignitaries were in attendance, including the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Hashim Suleiman, and other representatives from various faculties.
