Prof. Joseph Oluwole Akinbode, MNAL, a Professor in the Department of English Studies, Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), has been inducted as a member of the prestigious Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) in recognition of his outstanding scholarship and contributions to the study of English Language, Literature and General Linguistics.

The distinguished academic was inducted during the 28th Convocation, Induction of New Members and Investiture of Regular and Honorary Fellows of the Academy, held at the J.F. Ajayi Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

The conferment of the fellowship marks another significant milestone in Prof. Akinbode’s academic career and further underscores his contributions to scholarship in language, literature and related fields.

The Nigerian Academy of Letters is the apex, non-political and autonomous scholarly body for the Arts, Culture and Literature in Nigeria. The Vice-Chancellor of TASFUED, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, congratulated Prof. Akinbode on his admission into the Academy.
