ASUU Gombe State University Branch Suspends Indefinite Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Gombe State University branch, has suspended its indefinite strike action, effective immediately.

This decision follows a meeting held on October 24, 2024, where the Congress reviewed updates on negotiations between the State Government Negotiation Committee and the branch.

The strike, which began on September 11, 2024, was called off due to an agreement signed with the State Government. ASUU's Chairperson, Suleiman Salihu Jauro, and Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, announced the suspension in a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor.

The union has notified the Secretary to the State Government and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the decision.
