ASUU Warns of Potential Strike Action at Kaduna State University

The Academic Staff Union of Universities at Kaduna State University has warned of a looming strike action. The union had previously embarked on an indefinite industrial action on February 18, 2025, over unresolved issues with the Kaduna State Government.

The issues in contention include payment of withheld salaries, outstanding SIWES supervision allowances, and earned academic allowances. Despite agreements to address these issues, the union claims the government has not made concrete commitments.

The union's concerns were heightened when the visitor to the university cancelled two scheduled meetings with ASUU, sparking fears that the government may renege on its agreements. ASUU is seeking resolution to these issues to ensure the stability and progress of the university.
