ATBU SUG Meets With DICT Leadership to Address Hostel Accommodation Challenges

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), led by the President, held a strategic meeting with the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) earlier this evening, January 18, 2026, to resolve ongoing challenges regarding hostel accommodation.

During the extensive deliberations, the DICT management clarified that the current delay and slow pace of the hostel booking portal are due to the critical ongoing synchronization of data for fresh students. This data update has been identified as the primary technical priority to ensure a seamless registration process for the incoming cohort.

The DICT has officially assured the student leadership that the system is undergoing optimization and will be fully operational this weekend. Once the records for new students are finalized, the portal will be opened for general bookings.
