NSUK Signs Strategic MoU with Affiliate Institutions to Strengthen Academic Development

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), on Thursday, 15th January, 2026, signed strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with its affiliate institutions aimed at strengthening academic growth and institutional development.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman (Fellow, UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFP, CBER), represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Maikano Mohammed Ari, expressed appreciation to the partner institutions for their commitment to the agreement. He also commended the leadership of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) for ensuring the successful execution of the partnerships' framework.

Professor Ari reiterated NSUK’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, describing the MoU as long-term strategic collaborations designed to enhance academic standards, promote best practices, and foster sustainable institutional growth.

In his welcome remarks, the Dean of SPGS, Professor Abdullahi Adamu Sulaiman, expressed profound gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for her consistent support toward the success of the collaborations. He appreciated the affiliate institutions for their cooperation and dedication to advancing the education sector.

Professor Sulaiman emphasized the importance of the partnership in strengthening institutional management, particularly in the areas of quality assurance, admission processes, conduct of examinations, capacity building, and the sharing of best academic practices.

Speaking on behalf of the affiliate institutions, the Head of Delegation and Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Dr. Hauwa Tanko Mohammed appreciated the management of NSUK for the warm reception and demonstrated commitment to the partnership. She explained that the workshop was aimed at further strengthening academic collaboration, harmonizing the MoU templates, and formal signing the documents.

Dr. Mohammed assured that her institution, alongside other affiliates, would strictly adhere to NSUK’s rules, regulations, and quality assurance standards in line with the provisions of the MoU.

In his vote of thanks, the Registrar of NSUK, Dr. Bala I. Ahmed II expressed appreciation to the affiliate institutions for their commitment to the collaboration and urged them to comply strictly with the terms of the MoU. He expressed optimism for productive, impactful, and mutually beneficial partnerships.

The affiliate institutions include the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa; College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Lafia; FIDEI Polytechnic, Gboko; Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, Plateau State; and the APUDI Institute of Peace Studies and Social Rehabilitation.

The highlight of the occasion was the formal signing of the Memoranda of Understanding by both parties, followed by group photographs to commemorate the landmark event.
