Nigerian Law School Unveils Strategic Vision at 2026 Academic Roundtable
The Council of Legal Education and the Nigerian Law School have initiated a comprehensive institutional overhaul following the 2026 Academic Roundtable held in Abuja on Monday, February 9, 2026.
The session, which gathered academic staff from all campuses nationwide, served as the launchpad for a new strategic era aimed at strengthening teaching standards and producing "practice-ready" legal professionals.
The #ARISE Framework
The Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Olugbemisola Titilayomi Odusote, delivered a keynote presentation titled “ARISE: A Strategic Vision for the Nigerian Law School – Rebuilding for a New Legal Era.” She unveiled the #ARISE framework, which will guide the institution's growth:
A – Academic Excellence: Elevating the quality of legal instruction.
R – Research & Renewed Service: Enhancing scholarly output and administrative efficiency.
I – Infrastructural Rebirth: Modernising campus facilities across the country.
S – Sustainability & Stakeholders: Engaging partners to ensure long-term institutional health.
E – Enabled Digitisation: Integrating technology into the curriculum and school management.
Commitment to Reform
Dr. Odusote emphasized that the ARISE vision is a "commitment, not a compliance," urging staff to adopt a culture of innovation and collective responsibility. The roundtable addressed critical operational areas, including:
Curriculum Delivery: Aligning teaching methods with modern legal practice.
Mock Trials & Externships: Strengthening practical training and field experience.
Ethics & Standards: Reinforcing professional conduct and maintaining the integrity of Bar Final examinations.
This engagement reaffirms the Nigerian Law School's dedication to maintaining its status as a premier institution for legal training in Africa by embracing digitisation and ethical excellence.
