The newly appointed Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Sanusi Salihu Avidime, has signaled a new era of institutional growth by reaffirming his commitment to academic excellence, infrastructural rebirth, and inclusive leadership.

Addressing a capacity crowd at the 1000 Seat Lecture Theatre on Friday, February 13, 2026, during his first Polytechnic Assembly, the Rector emphasized that his administration will prioritize the professionalization of the workforce and the global competitiveness of its students.

Following a series of high-level meetings with the Academic Board and Management, Prof. Avidime identified the following core pillars for his tenure:

Professor Avidime expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, promising to justify the appointment through transparency and integrity.

"Leadership is a collective responsibility," the Rector stated, urging staff to uphold a culture of discipline and accountability. He reassured the assembly that his leadership would remain inclusive, leveraging the vast experience of the institution’s staff to build upon the legacies of his predecessors.

The Rector underscored the importance of equipping students with both character and professional competence, ensuring they graduate with the relevant skills needed to compete in a rapidly evolving global market.

The assembly, coordinated by the Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Uredo Omale, ended with a renewed sense of purpose as staff pledged their cooperation to advance the Polytechnic’s mandate.
