SONUCHIAA Inducts 2022 Graduates into UCH School of Nursing Alumni Association
The induction ceremony, held at Omolade Hall within the School of Nursing premises, formally marked the transition of the newly qualified nurses from students into members of the global healthcare community.
Delivering the welcome address, the President of the Alumni Association, Prof. Titilola Filani, praised the inductees for their resilience throughout the three-year training programme. She noted that despite the demands of rigorous academics and the pressures of clinical practice, the graduands successfully developed a balance between clinical excellence and compassionate care.
“By passing through the School of Nursing, UCH Ibadan, you have earned more than a certificate; you have inherited a legacy,” Prof. Filani said. “You are now part of a global lineage of excellence.”
The Chief Medical Director of UCH, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, represented by the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Prof. Olubukola Adesina delivered a goodwill message, urging the new alumni to uphold the core values of the nursing profession.
He emphasized the need for professionalism and integrity in clinical practice, commitment to lifelong learning in response to evolving medical technologies, and unwavering service to humanity through patient-centred and compassionate care.
Prof. Adesina further stressed that unity and collaboration among alumni would play a vital role in strengthening the nursing profession and improving healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
The ceremony reaffirmed the status of the UCH School of Nursing as a leading institution for nursing education in West Africa, renowned for its consistent production of world-class healthcare professionals.
