In a remarkable achievement, the Bayero University Kano (BUK) Enactus team has emerged as the Overall Best Team in the 2024 Enactus National Competition.
The team, comprised of students from the university, demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial skills and community-focused ideas, earning them the top spot.
Enactus, a global organization with headquarters in the United States, empowers students from polytechnics, colleges of education, and universities to create community impact through entrepreneurial action. With operations in 37 countries, including Nigeria, Enactus provides a platform for students to develop sustainable careers and community-focused projects.
The BUK Enactus team, led by Yusuf, presented their award to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor S Adamu Abbas, and highlighted the team's achievement as a testament to the university's commitment to excellence. The Vice-Chancellor commended the team for their outstanding performance and demonstrated further support by awarding them N250,000 to their winnings.
The team's victory has earned them a spot in the global Enactus competition, scheduled to take place in Thailand later this year. With their sights set on the global trophy, the team is confident that they will return to present the trophy to the university by September.
This achievement serves as a shining example of the impact that can be made when young people are empowered to create positive change in their communities. As the BUK Enactus team prepares to take on the global stage, they carry with them the hopes and aspirations of their university and community.
