Binta International School Names Dr Magareth Abraham New Head of School Ahead of Resumption

Binta International School, Ibadan, Oyo State, has appointed seasoned education administrator, Dr Magareth Abraham, as its new Head of School, in a move aimed at strengthening the institution’s leadership and advancing its commitment to quality education.

The appointment comes as the school prepares to commence academic activities for its creche, playgroup, nursery and primary sections, with the management expressing confidence that Abraham’s experience in educational administration will support the institution’s growth and academic vision.

Dr Abraham brings more than 17 years of experience in the education sector to her new role. Her academic and professional background spans educational management, administration, counselling, teaching and organisational leadership.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management from Lead City University, as well as a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Planning from the National Open University of Nigeria. She also obtained a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan.

Her academic qualifications further include a Bachelor of Education in Business Education from the National Open University of Nigeria, an International Diploma in Computer Studies from NCC Manchester, and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate and Public Administration from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.

Before her appointment at Binta International School, Abraham had worked in different capacities across the education sector. Her professional experience includes serving as a counsellor and tutorial volunteer teacher at Tabitha, as well as a teacher and counsellor at Global Commerce Coaching Centre.

She also served as Vice Principal in charge of Administration at Livingstone College of Arts and Science, Ibadan, where she combined administrative responsibilities with teaching Business Studies and Economics.

Speaking on the appointment, the Proprietress of Binta International School, Mrs Ehimwenma Adenuga, said the decision to appoint Abraham was in line with the school’s commitment to building a strong leadership structure capable of driving its educational objectives.

According to Adenuga, the school requires experienced professionals to supervise its operations and ensure that its vision of delivering quality education is effectively implemented.

“Our mission to expand our reputable professionalism in providing top-notch educational services to the residents of Ibadan and its environs would not be complete without the necessary personnel to supervise and steer the activities and operations of the school,” she said.

She added that Abraham’s professional record and experience were consistent with the institution’s determination to prepare children with the knowledge, skills and values required to pursue their future ambitions.

Adenuga explained that the school’s philosophy is reflected in the meaning of its name, BINTA, which stands for Brilliancy In Nurturing Talents and Academics, stressing the institution’s focus on combining academic development with the discovery and nurturing of children’s individual abilities.

The appointment positions Abraham to lead the academic and administrative activities of the school as it begins operations in Ibadan.

Binta International School, located along the Mokola-Sango Expressway in Ibadan, is expected to commence classes on September 14, 2026, while enrolment for prospective pupils began on August 27, 2026.

The development reflects the continued expansion of private educational institutions in Nigeria and the growing emphasis on experienced school leadership as proprietors seek to strengthen academic standards, institutional administration and the overall learning experience for children.
