In a recent development within the media landscape of Abia State University (ABSU), the ABSU Press Club has undergone a significant change in leadership with the election of Comrade Nnubia Blessing Chinaza, affectionately known as Blessed Pen, as its new President for the academic session 2023/2024.

Blessed Pen, a 300L student from the Department of Optometry and the outgoing Vice President of the ABSU Press Club, emerged victorious in the just-concluded elections, marking a new chapter in the club's journey towards excellence in content creation, social media engagement, writing skills, and news presentation.

Established in July 2023 under the auspices of the Student Union Government (SUG) PRO, Comrade Okon Victor, the ABSU Press Club aims to bring together students endowed with diverse skills in media and communication to elevate the University's media unit to unprecedented heights.

Congratulating the newly elected leaders, SUG PRO Comrade Okon Victor urged them to uphold professionalism and operational ethics in their roles, emphasizing the importance of experience and dedication in fulfilling their responsibilities.

In her acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Blessed Pen, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the club and pledged her commitment to its growth and development. Further appointments for offices such as Vice President, Treasurer, Provost, Chief Editor, and Assistant Chief Editor will be reviewed in due course, signaling a period of anticipation and transformation within the club.
