The Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) is set to host its International Scientific Symposium themed “Science of Learning: Evidence-Based Strategies for Effective Education” on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM WAT.
The hybrid event will take place at the BMU Rooftop Auditorium in Yenagoa.

The symposium will feature Prof. Dimie Ogoina, Vice-Chancellor of BMU and TIME 100 Honoree, as the Keynote Speaker, alongside an expert panel comprising Prof. Peter Okebukola, OFR, Prof. Uche Onwudiegwu, Prof. Esther Fomsi, and Prof. Ibi Erekosima.
According to the organizing committee, the symposium will explore innovative, evidence-based strategies that enhance teaching and learning outcomes in medical and health education. Key sessions will include panel discussions, Q&A segments, and presentations on the BMU Charter development.
The event is open to educators, academics, healthcare professionals, students, and researchers, all of whom will earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points and a Certificate of Attendance.
