Borno State First Lady Distributes 100,000 Free Exercise Books to Secondary Schools

Her Excellency, Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, First Lady of Borno State and Coordinator of Renewed Hope Initiative, has launched the distribution of 100,000 free exercise books to pupils of primary and junior secondary schools across the state.

The books were donated by the Nigerian First Lady, Distinguished Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.

The event, which took place at the Borno Primary and Junior Secondary School, was attended by the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, and other dignitaries.

In her remarks, Dr. Zulum expressed her gratitude to Sen. Tinubu for the generous donation, stating that it would be continued. She also commended the Borno State government's efforts in transforming education in the state.

Engr. Wakilbe, in his speech, appreciated the timely donation, which comes as the new term is about to commence. He reiterated the need for prudent distribution of the books to ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of the exercise books to the 27 Educational Secretaries, who will oversee the distribution to schools across the state.

This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative's efforts to support education in Borno State, following last year's national scholarship award to some indigenes of the state.
