BOSU Vice Chancellor Embarks on Familiarization Tour, Assures Prompt Attention to Challenges
Borno State University (BOSU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, has commenced a familiarization tour of the university's departments, units, and faculties.
The tour aims to acquaint the Vice Chancellor with the challenges faced by the various units and to assure them of his commitment to addressing these challenges.
During the tour, Professor Gutti emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication to duty in moving the university forward. He disclosed plans to develop a five-year development plan, which will include specific projects for each year. The Vice Chancellor directed all heads and deans to develop similar plans for their respective departments and faculties.
The Vice Chancellor acknowledged the various challenges raised by the departments, units, and faculties, including inadequate office equipment and space, poor water supply, transportation issues, and staff shortages. He assured that these challenges would be addressed, starting with the installation of solar power in most departments and faculties, as well as boreholes, to provide a conducive working environment.
While addressing students at their hostel, Professor Gutti charged them to shun drug abuse and other social vices. He urged them to be good ambassadors of BOSU, both on and off campus, and to reduce their screen time to focus on their studies.
The familiarization tour is seen as a proactive step by the Vice Chancellor to engage with the university community, identify challenges, and develop strategies to address them.
