BUK SUG Assures Students of Ongoing Engagement on NELFUND Disbursement

The Students’ Union Government of Bayero University Kano (SUG-BUK) has acknowledged concerns raised by students over delays and uncertainties surrounding the NELFUND disbursement process, describing the matter as urgent and receiving sustained attention.

In a statement issued by the union, the SUG confirmed that it has remained actively engaged from the outset, maintaining continuous dialogue with the university management, the NELFUND Desk Office, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the process remains fair, transparent, and expedited in the best interest of students.

The union noted that while some progress has been recorded, the disbursement process involves multiple layers of coordination beyond its direct control. It, however, assured students that engagements are ongoing and efforts are being intensified to resolve outstanding issues.

Students were urged to remain calm, united, and law-abiding, as stakeholders continue working towards a resolution that addresses legitimate concerns.

The SUG further reaffirmed its commitment to protecting student interests, stating that it remains active both in negotiations and advocacy efforts to ensure timely and effective resolution of the matter.
