Renowned philanthropist and international aviation business mogul, Dr. Oludare Akande, has pledged to facilitate the establishment of a standard Moot Court for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH). The moot court will be utilized for training students in the institution’s Faculty of Law, pending final approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence academic activities.

A Moot Court is a co-curricular activity primarily based in law faculties, where participants engage in simulated court or arbitration proceedings. This involves drafting memorials or memoranda and participating in oral arguments.
During his visit to the university leadership, Dr. Akande expressed his commitment to constructing a Moot Court for LAUTECH, aligning with the institution's aspirations to initiate legal training.
In response, the Registrar of the University, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, extended gratitude to Dr. Akande for his generous pledge, assuring him that his benevolent gesture would be highly valued and appreciated by the university community.

Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rom Kalilu, also conveyed appreciation to the philanthropist and industrialist for his support to the university. Dr. Akande had previously offered employment opportunities and a cash prize of one million Naira to the best graduating student during the 16th convocation ceremonies. Additionally, he extended job offers to other outstanding graduates as a testament to his commitment to supporting academic excellence and student welfare.
