Covenant University Celebrates First Eagle Professor as Dr. Aderonke Oni Attains Full Professorship
Covenant University recently celebrated the elevation of Dr. Aderonke Atinuke Oni to the rank of full professor, marking her as the first Eagle (graduate) of the institution to achieve this distinction.

Dr. Oni, an alumna of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, Class of 2006, joins a distinguished group of faculty recently promoted by the institution.

The announcement of Dr. Oni's promotion, alongside 14 other faculty members to full professorship and five to associate professorship, was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo. This promotion follows a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the University’s Appointment and Promotions Committee (A&PC) for the 2022/2023 Academic Session, validated by External Assessors.
During a celebratory meeting attended by Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo, the newly promoted professors were encouraged to maintain a commitment to continuous learning, research excellence, and the creation of impactful solutions. Dr. Oyedepo emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and urged the professors to continually seek new goals and achievements.
