Covenant University's Department of Mass Communication achieved significant success by clinching the top prize at the ARCON Colloquium 2.0 Competition for 2024.
Covenant University's Department of Mass Communications has secured top honors at the prestigious Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Colloquium 2.0 Competition for 2024, marking a significant achievement for the university. The students emerged victorious over competitors from various Federal and State universities, including Ebonyi State University, Lagos State University, and others across Nigeria.

Upon their return, the winning team was warmly received by Covenant University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, who lauded their exceptional success despite challenges, including the illness of their lead speaker and concurrent exam preparations. Professor Adebayo emphasized the students' resilience and dedication, attributing their triumph to Covenant University's high educational standards.
Dr. Stella Aririguzo, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, expressed her pride in the students' accomplishment and acknowledged the university's support in their journey to victory. She highlighted the department's commitment to preparing future competitions with even greater preparation and optimism for continued success.
The victorious team received a cash prize of 1 million naira and complimentary air tickets as part of their award. This accolade not only elevates Covenant University's standing but also sets a benchmark for future students aspiring to excel in the field of mass communication.
The event concluded with a celebratory photo session, where the students, alongside faculty members including Dr. Tunji Oyedepo, Dr. Darlynton Yartey, and Dr. Thelma Ekanem, commemorated their achievement with the Vice-Chancellor.
