Dr. Halima Idrisa Gambo Promoted to Full Professor at University of Maiduguri

The University of Maiduguri has announced the promotion of Dr. Halima Idrisa Gambo to the rank of full-fledged Professor, a testament to her dedication and contributions to the field of Veterinary Pathology.

This milestone achievement was approved by the esteemed Governing Council of the University on August 27, 2025.

Professor Gambo's promotion marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the first and only female Professor of Veterinary Pathology in Nigeria. Her achievement is a source of pride and inspiration, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and leadership.

With over two decades of experience in teaching, research, mentorship, and community service, Professor Gambo has established herself as a distinguished academic and leader. She has held various positions, including:

- National Vice President of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)

- Chairperson of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Borno State Chapter

- Deputy Director of the University of Maiduguri Business School (UMBS)
