Ebonyi State University of ICT Holds Strategic Meeting With Huawei China on Network and Server Infrastructure Development

Ebonyi State University of ICT, Science and Technology Oferekpe has recorded a major step in its digital transformation agenda following a strategic technical engagement with representatives of Huawei Technologies on the proposed network and server infrastructure for the institution.

The meeting, held on May 25, 2026, brought together the UICTO Technical Team and Huawei China representatives to deliberate on the design and implementation of a robust ICT backbone aimed at supporting a modern digital learning environment.

Discussions focused on technical collaboration, infrastructure architecture, and system specifications required to deploy a scalable and high-performance network and server system. The UICTO Technical Team actively contributed through technical questioning, recommendations, and evaluation inputs to align the project with global standards.

According to participants, the engagement underscored the importance of strategic planning, technical assessment, and international collaboration in building sustainable ICT infrastructure capable of supporting teaching, research, administration, cybersecurity, and smart-campus operations.

The institution noted that a reliable network backbone and efficient server systems remain critical to achieving long-term digital transformation goals, particularly in enhancing academic delivery and institutional efficiency.

The UICTO Technical Team was commended for its professionalism and detailed technical input, which helped clarify specifications and performance expectations for the proposed infrastructure.

Special recognition was given to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his continued support for education and technology-driven development across the state.
