EBOTRANS Begins Shuttle Operations on Abakaliki–DUFUTH Route to Ease Staff Commute
The Ebonyi State Transportation Service (EBOTRANS) has commenced shuttle operations on the Abakaliki–David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH), Uburu route, in a move aimed at easing transportation challenges faced by hospital staff and patients.

The development was made possible through the support of the management of DUFUTH as part of efforts to reduce the rising cost of commuting for staff working along the corridor.
According to the arrangement, the approved fare for the shuttle service is ₦2,000 per trip, with passengers to be seated three persons per row.
Pick-up points and operating schedule have also been clearly designated. Staff and commuters are to be picked up daily at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abakaliki between 6:30am and 7:30am. After this window, passengers can board from the EBOTRANS park at Central Park, Abakaliki.
The service also includes return trips from DUFUTH back to Abakaliki at the close of work, ensuring a complete daily transport cycle for commuters.
The management of DUFUTH expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of staff during the implementation process, noting that the initiative is designed to improve welfare and operational efficiency within the hospital community.

Commuters have been advised to cooperate with EBOTRANS operators to ensure safe, orderly, and smooth transportation services.
