Edo State University, Iyamho Inducts 1,152 Students at 11th Matriculation Ceremony
Edo State University, Iyamho, held its 11th Matriculation Ceremony, welcoming new students into the academic community. The event, held at the Aliko Dangote Auditorium, featured the administration of the matriculation oath and the signing of the matriculation register, officially admitting the students as members of the University.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Victor O. Adetimirin congratulated the students and expressed gratitude to parents for their trust and support. He highlighted the university's growth since its establishment in 2016, including the expansion of faculties, programmes, and research capacity. Notable achievements include the development of the Edo State University Teaching Hospital, Auchi, and the accreditation of its MBBS programme.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the Edo State Government's support and encouraged students to uphold discipline, integrity, and hard work.
Goodwill messages were delivered by Emmanuel Usoh Esq., former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Cooperative, Edo State, and Chief Isaac Odigie Ohonsi Esq. They urged students to refrain from drugs and other vices, remain focused, determined, and disciplined, and allow the institution shape them not only intellectually but also in character.
The University reaffirmed its commitment to excellence, innovation, and global competitiveness.
