Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN) Appoints KIU Vice-Chancellor as Grand Patron
The Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN), Borno State Chapter, has formally appointed the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Professor Babagana Gutti, as its Grand Patron.
The appointment was conferred on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor's office by the executive members of the association, led by the State President, Comrade Abubakar Ibrahim.
Explaining the rationale behind the honour, Comrade Ibrahim stated that the association’s decision was rooted in Professor Gutti’s unwavering commitment to advancing the educational landscape in Borno State.
“We are here to officially appoint you as our Grand Patron because of your consistent focus on the advancement of education,” Ibrahim noted. “As the bedrock of every society, we seek your fatherly guidance and support as we contribute our quota to the sector.”
Responding to the gesture, Professor Babagana Gutti expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He underscored the critical role of education in societal transformation and highlighted the ongoing investments by the state and stakeholders in teacher training and professional development.
Addressing the student leaders, the Vice-Chancellor remarked: “As students of education, you have a critical role to play in shaping the future. I urge you to remain committed to your studies, uphold high levels of discipline, and strive to become worthy ambassadors of this institution.”
The appointment further solidifies the bond between the university leadership and student bodies dedicated to professional academic growth within the state.
