Eid el-Maulud Message from Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, FULafia

On behalf of the Management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), I wish to congratulate the Muslim Community on the occasion of the 2023 Eid el-Maulud, the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), celebrations.

Eid el-Maulud is a particularly significant day to Muslims as it commemorates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, the last prophet of Islam, a religion of peace. The Islamic society built by our Prophet was acclaimed for its peace, justice and equity.

Thus, as we celebrate this day, I call on all of us, Muslims and Christians in FULafia, to continue to live in peace with one another, show love, understanding, tolerance and exhibit good neighbourliness among ourselves.

After all, Eid el-Maulud is, essentially, not a time for merry making but a period for sober reflection and devotion. I, therefore, urge all of us in our great University to renew our faith in God and imbibe the true meaning of piety, sacrifice, patience and fellowship.

I, on this occasion of the Eid el-Maulud, express my sincere appreciation to all members of the FULafa University for the support and cooperation my administration is enjoying.

I pray that the Almighty Allah will continue to grant us the grace to remain focused on the path of implementing our policies and programmes that are designed to develop the University.

I call on us, especially the Muslims ummah, to use this period to pray for Allah to grant our leaders the wisdom to find solutions to end the social and economic challenges facing the country and restore unity among the citizenry.

Happy Eid el-Maulud celebrations to you all!

Signed:
