Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, in collaboration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, has honoured Miss Praise Ogundare, a first-class graduate of the university, for her academic excellence. Ogundare graduated with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.84.
She received the recognition during the university’s inaugural medical laboratory science induction ceremony, which celebrated the achievements of the graduating class and their transition into professional practice.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Professor Thadius Ijadunola, commended Ogundare’s outstanding performance and encouraged all inductees to remain connected to their alma mater. He also urged them to prioritize the welfare of their parents and approach their careers with a sense of responsibility, rather than being driven solely by financial gains.
Similarly, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Professor Tosan Erhabor, emphasized the importance of discipline and ethical conduct in the medical laboratory science profession. He warned that the council would not tolerate any form of professional misconduct, as it could result in the withdrawal of licenses.
“Expertise will demystify the propaganda in the health sector as well as serve as instrumental proponents in the diagnosis of diseases and monitoring of treatment outcomes while advancing medical research,” Erhabor stated.
The induction ceremony marked a significant milestone for Elizade University’s medical laboratory science program, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and professional integrity in the healthcare sector.
