FASU Games 2024 Scientific Conference to be Held at Lagos State University

The Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) is set to host the 11th edition of its Scientific Conference, themed “Fostering Unity, Healthy Competition and Global Excellence Through University Sports.” The conference will be held from Monday, September 23 to Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Hall, Lagos State University (LASU), Badagry Expressway, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria. The daily sessions will commence at 9:00 a.m.

The conference will feature a keynote presentation by Mrs. Kafilat Araoye, the Managing Director/CEO of LOTUS Bank Ltd. Noteworthy lead paper presenters include Professor Vincent O. Onywera, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Outreach at KCA University, Nairobi, Kenya, and Dr. Mary Jane De Souza, FACSM, FNAK, Distinguished Professor at The Pennsylvania State University, USA.

The conference will address key sub-themes such as:

• Sustainable Development and Social Impact
• Athletes’ Welfare and Performance Enhancement
• Global Health and Well-being
• Partnerships and Sustainability
• Unity, Rivalry, and Leadership
• Inclusivity and Cross-Cultural Understanding

The event will be conducted in a hybrid format to accommodate both in-person and online participation. Details for online participation will be shared with registered participants in due course.
