The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu (FEDPODAM), Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, was a key dignitary at the prestigious award ceremony hosted by the Ummati International Charity Foundation on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

The event, held at the institution's Multi-Purpose Lecture Hall, served as a high-level gathering for institutional heads, religious leaders, and the academic community to honour exceptional contributions to humanitarian service and grassroots community development.

The Rector, who was represented by the Deputy Rector (Administration), Dr. Lawan Cheri, delivered a powerful goodwill message urging a multi-sectoral approach to philanthropy. He called upon:

"Collective support is vital in sustaining initiatives that positively impact our society," Dr. Bashir noted, emphasizing the role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of giving.

The Coordinator of the Foundation, Ibrahim Muhammad Bande, expressed his gratitude to the Polytechnic Management for providing the venue and support. He reaffirmed the foundation’s primary mission: improving the lives of orphans, widows, and vulnerable members of society through targeted welfare programmes.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to charity, further strengthening the bond between the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu and regional non-governmental organizations.
