Federal Polytechnic Oko Hosts 3rd Hybrid International Conference
The Federal Polytechnic Oko recently held its 3rd Hybrid International Conference, themed "The Impact of the New Economy on Accounting and Finance Business."
The conference, organized by the School of Financial Studies, brought together scholars, professionals, and policymakers to discuss the evolving landscape of accounting and finance in the digital age.
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, was honored with the Distinguished Platinum Leadership Award for her exceptional leadership skills, vision, and commitment to academic excellence. Other notable individuals recognized during the ceremony included former Acting Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Omonibeke Kemelayefa, and former Acting Rector, Dr. Ubaka Chukwugekwu.
The conference featured keynote speakers from renowned institutions, including Prof. Tapas Mishra from the University of Southampton, UK, who presented virtually. Other lead paper presenters included Dr. Kenneth Ezekwe, Prof. Amit Kumar Dwivedi, and Prof. Hari Shyam.
The conference theme highlighted the impact of the new economy on accounting and finance, emphasizing the need for professionals to adapt to technological advancements, digital transformation, and data-driven entrepreneurship.
