Federal University of Education, Zaria Launches Inaugural Campus-Wide Sanitation Initiative

The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, in collaboration with the Nigeria Red Cross Society, Zaria Division, has officially launched the First General Campus Sanitation Exercise.

The exercise, which took place on Friday, 10th January, 2026, is aimed at promoting a clean, safe, and healthy campus environment, while also enhancing the overall welfare and well-being of students.

Speaking during the launch, the SRC President, Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, emphasized that a clean environment is essential for effective learning and the prevention of avoidable health challenges. He noted that the initiative reflects the SRC commitment to ensuring that students live and study in a hygienic and conducive atmosphere.

The SRC President further disclosed that the sanitation exercise is not a one time activity, but part of a broader plan to sustain environmental cleanliness on campus.

According to him, general campus sanitation will remain a continuous programme throughout the SRC administration, with the support and cooperation of students.

He called on the student body to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness, stressing that collective responsibility is key to building a healthier and more responsible campus community.
