The Federal Government has approved a total of 126 institutions for the first phase of its student loan scheme, designed to support 1.2 million students across various tertiary institutions. This initiative, announced by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), marks a significant step in providing financial assistance to students in federal universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and technical colleges.

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, is among the institutions selected for this initial phase. Students enrolled in these institutions will have the opportunity to benefit from the scheme, which aims to ease the financial burden on students and improve access to education.
