Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has stressed the significance of regular seminars in advancing academic activities within the university.

He made this statement during the First Departmental Seminar of the Department of Islamic Studies, held at the Faculty of Arts Board Room, Permanent Site Campus.

Abdul Rahman commended the Dean of Arts, Professor Muhammad Tanko, and the staff of the Department of Islamic Studies for institutionalizing the practice of seminars. He noted that the seminar's topic, "Mass Protest and Political Reform in Islam," was apt in today's society, emphasizing the need for peaceful dialogue in resolving conflicts.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of seminars in the academic system, including:

Earlier, Professor Muhammad Tanko, Dean of Arts, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and University Management for their support. He commended the department's staff for their cooperation in making the seminar possible.

The paper presenter discussed the need for Islamic political reform to develop society, emphasizing the effects of mass protests, including violence, hunger, loss of lives, and properties. He advocated for reform through prayers, preaching, and patience.
