The management of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale (FUMHSK) has officially announced the commencement of mandatory medical screening for all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The exercise, which is a prerequisite for full university registration, is designed to ensure the physical fitness of the incoming cohort and maintain a healthy campus environment.

Commencement Date: Monday, January 12, 2026

Closing Date: Friday, January 30, 2026

Fee and Requirements

Newly admitted undergraduate, direct entry, and international students are required to pay a screening fee of ₦30,000 (Thirty Thousand Naira). This fee covers comprehensive physical examinations, laboratory diagnostics (including blood work and urinalysis), and official medical documentation.

To participate, students must present:

A copy of their Official Admission Letter.

Proof of Payment (Receipt) for the ₦30,000 screening fee.

Mandatory Compliance

In a statement signed by Dr. Enebeli Stephen N., Acting Director of the University Health Center, the institution emphasized that medical clearance is not optional. Students who fail to complete the screening within the stipulated timeframe will be unable to finalize their registration or participate in academic activities.

"The screening serves several vital purposes, including the prevention of infectious diseases and the establishment of accurate medical records for emergency care," Dr. Enebeli stated.

Operational Guidelines

University officials advise students to attend the screening early in the period to avoid overcrowding. Following the completion of all tests and vaccinations, students will be issued a Medical Clearance Certificate, which is essential for accessing other university services and completing the departmental registration process.
