The leadership of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Dutse has issued an important notice to students following a new understanding reached with the Nigeria Police Force over movement within the Yalwawa area during late hours.

According to the statement released by the union, the agreement was reached after discussions between the student leadership and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Yalwawa Division, Dutse, aimed at addressing concerns surrounding student safety and mobility, particularly during the ongoing examination period.

The SUG disclosed that students are now permitted to move freely through the Yalwawa area, including during late hours, following what it described as a peaceful and productive engagement with the police authorities.

The union, however, urged students to remain security conscious despite the new arrangement. Students were advised to stay alert, avoid unnecessary risks, move in groups where possible, and promptly report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.
