The Federal University Lokoja has recognised members of staff who previously served in the office of the former Vice-Chancellor, Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi, in appreciation of their dedication and contributions to the institution.

The recognition was led by the current Vice-Chancellor, Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, during a meeting held on Friday, March 27, 2026, where affected staff—now redeployed to other units—were formally appreciated for their service.
Ibileye said the gesture was a deliberate acknowledgment of the role they played in supporting the smooth running of the Vice-Chancellor’s office under the previous administration, describing their contributions as integral to institutional continuity.
He commended their professionalism, commitment, and discipline, noting that effective administration is built on the collective strength of staff across all levels, not just leadership positions.
The Vice-Chancellor urged them to carry the same work ethic into their new assignments, stressing that excellence is a habit that must be sustained regardless of role or department.

The university said the initiative reflects a broader culture of staff appreciation and institutional respect for service delivery across administrative structures.
