FULafia Partners with Association of African Universities to Drive Innovation and Research

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Association of African Universities (AAU) to promote research, innovation, academic excellence and institutional development across Africa.

Kida made the pledge during a virtual address he made to the AAU Secretariat in Accra, Ghana, recently.

Kida was, however, represented at the conference by the Director of FULafia’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Abubakar.

The vice-chancellor commended the AAU Secretary-General, Olusola Bandele Oyewole, and the association’s leadership for their dedication to advancing higher education on the continent.

He described the AAU as a leading platform for research excellence, quality assurance, internationalisation and capacity building, noting that its objectives aligned with FULafia’s strategic vision.

Kida highlighted the need for stronger collaboration among African universities to address emerging challenges such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, climate change and sustainable development, while enhancing research networks, academic exchanges, and institutional development across the continent.
