FULafia Unions' Leaders Commend Vice-Chancellor Over Transparency in Needs Assessment Projects

Leaders of staff unions at the Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, have commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, for promoting transparency, accountability and stakeholder participation in the administration of the institution.
The unions' leaders gave the commendation during a meeting with the University Management to discuss funds approved for Needs Assessment projects in the University.
The meeting enabled the Management to explain the approved funds, proposed projects and implementation processes, while unions' leaders sought clarification and offered suggestions on how the resources could address critical needs.
The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Comrade Sunday Orinya, praised Kida for creating an atmosphere that allowed unions' leaders to engage directly with Management on issues affecting staff and the University.
Similarly, the NAAT Chairman, Comrade Kenneth Onoh, and SSANU Chairman, Comrade Daniel Dajen, applauded the openness of the Management, stressing that regular stakeholder engagement would strengthen trust and cooperation in the University.
Responding, Kida reaffirmed his administration's commitment to accountability and responsible resource management, saying that "University development is a collective responsibility."
The meeting was attended by unions' leaders, principal officers and senior University officials.
