FULafia VC Charges Student Leaders to Be Effective
As the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) prepares to establish a Student Union Government (SUG), the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has urged student leaders to develop their leadership skills and be effective in their roles.

Speaking at a one-day interactive session/seminar for student leaders, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of training and equipping leaders with the necessary tools to lead effectively. He noted that leadership crises can arise when leaders lack the right skills and knowledge to make informed decisions and navigate complex situations.

The event, held at the Management Information System Hall, Permanent Site Campus, brought together officials of the Students Representative Council (SRC), Students Integrity Club (SIC), faculty, department, religious, state, tribal associations, and club representatives.
Professor Abdul Rahman commended the student leaders for their cooperation with the University management in maintaining a conducive learning environment. He also presented a lecture titled "Bake and Eat the Cake of Wisdom in Preparation for Leadership Position," emphasizing the importance of acquiring wisdom and intelligence in decision-making.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to develop ideas and values to become good people and leaders. He also presented certificates to students who completed a previous leadership training program.
Other speakers at the event, including the Registrar, University Librarian, Deans, and Heads of Departments, commended the students for their exemplary conduct and support for the University management.
The event featured an interactive session, dance performances by the Theatre and Media Arts department students, and a presentation by the SRC President, Comrade Idris Shauibu, and SIC President, Maimunat Eleojo, who praised the Vice-Chancellor's leadership qualities and commitment to providing a conducive learning environment.
