Ekiti State Police Command Initiates Investigation into Alleged Assault at BOUESTI
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ekiti State police command condemned the assault on the victim and assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to unravel the circumstances surrounding the assault and identify the suspects.
The Ekiti State Police Command has initiated an investigation into an alleged assault on a female student of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).
This is following recent incident in a video that went viral on social media where a student was seent flogging a female peer with a stick, threatening to draw blood from her body while onlookers watched.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the police command condemned the incident and assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to unravel the circumstances surrounding the assault and identify the suspects. They expressed their views on the incident on their social media page. “We wish to inform the general public, especially all concerned citizens and the good people of Ekiti State, that the State Police Command is aware of a video currently circulating on social media. In this video, a female student of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) is seen assaulting and harassing another female student. The Command deems this act as inhumane and unacceptable,” they tweeted.

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has also ordered an investigation into the incident. He directed the Ikere Area Commander to cooperate with the school management to ensure the perpetrator is identified and faces legal consequences.
The public was also advised against taking matters into their own hands and encouraged to report issues to law enforcement agencies.
