The Mechatronics Engineering Department of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) held its second exhibition on September 4, 2024, featuring groundbreaking projects and research by final-year students. The event showcased innovations in precision agriculture and other technological advancements, offering interactive displays, live demonstrations, and opportunities for attendees to engage with the researchers.

Among the notable projects were an unmanned ground vehicle for herbicide spraying, controlled via a mobile app, an automated drainage cleaning system, and an adaptive four-way junction traffic light controller using computer vision. Other standout innovations included a UAV-based maize leaf disease detection system, a digital FUNAAB map, a bird detection system, an autonomous fire-fighting robot, a smart surveillance robotic car, and the automation of a hydroponic farm to enhance crop yield and resource efficiency.

Engr. Samuel Owoeye, the Acting Head of the Mechatronics Department, commended the students for their dedication and creativity, highlighting the significance of the exhibition in building their confidence and skills.
