FUNAAB NASU Holds 9th Annual General Meeting, Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) chapter of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) held its 9th Welfare Scheme & Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 19, 2025.

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Chapter, has reaffirmed its dedication to staff welfare during its 9th Welfare Scheme & Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on March 19, 2025.

The event, which attracted a large turnout of members, provided an avenue for discussions on key welfare issues affecting non-teaching staff. NASU-FUNAAB Chairman, Comrade Samson Edivri, emphasized the importance of unity in advancing the interests of members, stating, “Our collective strength is our greatest asset.” He urged members to remain steadfast in their pursuit of improved welfare conditions.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, Deputy Registrar I, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Moses Ayanda, commended the leadership of NASU for their commitment to staff welfare. He acknowledged the vital contributions of non-teaching staff to the university's smooth operations and congratulated the union on the successful organization of the event.

The Ogun State Chairman of NASU, Comrade Rasaq John, also lauded the efforts of the union executives and members, describing the NASU welfare scheme as a reflection of the union’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of its members. He encouraged members to sustain the initiative for long-term benefits.

Dignitaries at the AGM included the representative of the Registrar, Mr. Adewale Ojoye; Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; Managing Director of UNAAB Microfinance Bank (UMFB), Mr. Adebiyi Ayoade; former NASU-FUNAAB Chairman, Comrade Isiaq Odunjo, as well as other NASU leaders from within and outside the university.
