A distinguished alumnus of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Subuloye Baale Isaac, has earned international academic recognition after receiving the Graduate Dean’s Citation Award for Excellence at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), United States.

Isaac achieved the honour upon the successful completion of his Master’s degree in Chemistry with Distinction, a key milestone within the requirements of his ongoing PhD programme. The award, established in 1984, is one of the University’s most prestigious recognitions, reserved for graduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and scholarly excellence.

The Dean’s Citation Award reflects Isaac’s consistent academic discipline, research excellence, and commitment to high intellectual standards throughout his graduate studies. His achievement places him among a select group of outstanding graduate scholars recognised annually by the University of Northern Colorado.

Reflecting on the journey, Isaac described his academic path as one shaped by resilience, sacrifice, and faith, marked by demanding challenges and defining moments that tested his resolve. He acknowledged divine grace as central to his progress and success, noting that perseverance and belief sustained him through periods of uncertainty and pressure.

He also expressed deep appreciation to his graduate school recommenders — Dr. Adekunle Ignatius Owokotomo, Dr. Gideon Idowu, and Dr. Matthew Ayorinde Adebayo — for their confidence in his potential and support at critical stages of his academic journey. He further recognised the unwavering encouragement of his parents, whose sacrifices and prayers, he said, formed the foundation of his achievements.
