NSUK Vice-Chancellor Led University Delegation to Burial of Late Pioneer Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025, led a delegation of the University community to the burial of the late pioneer Vice-Chancellor and immediate past Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Emeritus Professor Adamu David Baikie.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025, led a delegation of the University community to the burial of the late pioneer Vice-Chancellor and immediate past Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Emeritus Professor Adamu David Baikie.

Professor Liman was accompanied by the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, other members of the Governing Council, principal officers, and members of the University community. The delegation joined eminent Nigerians in Wusasa, Zaria, Kaduna State, to pay their final respects to the elder statesman and renowned academic.

Emeritus Professor Adamu David Baikie, fondly known as Baba Baikie, passed on to glory on Friday, 12th December 2025, at the age of 94. He was widely celebrated for laying the solid academic and administrative foundations upon which Nasarawa State University, Keffi has continued to grow and thrive.

The University community expressed profound gratitude for his visionary leadership, selfless service, and enduring contributions to the development of the institution and higher education in Nigeria.

Late Emeritus Professor Adamu David Baikie was remembered as a distinguished scholar, administrator, and mentor whose legacy will remain indelible in the history of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
