The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has announced the appointment of three distinguished scholars to the prestigious rank of Professor Emeritus. This recognition, one of the highest academic honors conferred by the university, was approved by the Governing Council following an election by the University Senate.

The newly appointed Professors Emeritus, as revealed by the Registrar, Mr. Charles Adeleye, include:

Emeritus Professor Adebisi Balogun – A former Vice-Chancellor of FUTA, acknowledged for his outstanding contributions to academia in the fields of fish nutrition and biochemistry, as well as his exceptional leadership during and after his tenure.

Emeritus Professor (Venerable) Akin Laseinde – The former University Chaplain, recognized for his academic excellence in poultry production and management, alongside his spiritual guidance and service to the university community.
